I spent over fifty years writing fantasy, dark fiction and strange tales — for myself, for my children, and primarily for my own pleasure. I am now publishing.

Two bodies of work live here. The first is The Woldwood — a dark fantasy world of ancient magic and forgotten histories, currently releasing as forty tales and a first novel. The second is Edvane Stories — dark short fiction, ghost stories, folklore and historical shadows, published every Saturday.

The Durn Yew  ·  Tales from the Woldwood  ·  The Shivering Vale

In the Marchlands, there is a tree. The Durn Yew moves through the Woldwood, disappearing and reappearing, never in the same place twice. Beneath its roots lives the Yewdeep. Beyond the Groaning Gate lie tethered realms. Forty tales record the people and events of this world. Thirty-nine are in the archive. The first novel arrives soon.

Edvane Stories

Dark Fiction  ·  Ghost Stories  ·  Folklore  ·  Historical Shadows

A separate world from the Marchlands, the same hand behind it. Dark short fiction published every Saturday at edvanestories.com — ghost stories, folklore, historical mysteries and strange machines. Nothing set in this century, or the last. Five tales are also available as an audiobook on ElevenReader.
